Abstract:

Aiming at the problem that multipath false target interferes with real target location of automotive millimeter-wave radar in urban road environment, a multipath false target removal method is proposed to obtain the accurate location of real target. Firstly, the electromagnetic propagation path of simplifized urban road multipath scene is analyzed and the echo model is established. Then, the initial location result of the target is obtained by using the constant false alarm rate detection method and the minimum variance distortionless response (MVDR) localization method. Finally, the spatial location of multipath false target is analyzed theoretically, the multipath false targets is matched and eliminated in the initial location result, and the location of real target is retained. The experimental results validate that the proposed algorithm can effectively eliminate the multipath false target and obtain the real target location.

Key words: automotive millimeter-wave radar, multipath elimination, target localization, minimum variance distortionless response (MVDR)
