Abstract:

As in landing or takeoff, approach or takeoff, low altitude wind shear is one of the most dangerous weather phenomenon to the aviation safety. Due to the characteristics of suddenness, short duration, heavy intensity and high hazard, it is difficult to obtain the real radar data of the wind shear. Based on the terminal area simulation system (TASS) model and combined with microphysical property of wind shear, a 3D wind field model is proposed by using the computational fluid dynamics method. After the preprocessing of the original non-uniform wind field data, the scanning parameters are set up in accordance with the real airborne weather radar, the sprinkle point method is used to implement low altitude wind shear high fidelity 3D signal simulation. Results of simulation prove that the proposed method can provide effective and reliable simulation data, which can veritably reflect the meteorological characteristics of the wind shear echo signals, and the design of the simulation process is reasonable.
